Our Mission:

ISAIAH 61:1 “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.  He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.”

Luke 4:17-24 “And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to Him.  He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written,’The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.  He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to the proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.’ And He rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down.  And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him.  And He began to say to them, ‘Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.'”

Mission Statement:

As Women of “The Way”, we are disciples of Jesus.  We are not women of perfection.  We are women who desire to follow Jesus with thanksgiving and praise.  We are women who have been called to serve with hearts of humility, love and compassion by way of our personal life stories.  We are women who serve other women through discipleship by sharing the Gospel of Christ and directing all to His Word for Hope, Healing, Rest, Peace and Life.  Our Mission is the Great Commission.  Our Message is to Love God and Love all Women as we love ourselves through Christ.

 Why This Mission:

Read why here.

In the book of Isaiah (OT), Isaiah spoke and wrote on the judgment of the Lord, then the coming of the Messianic King, a message of hope and deliverance for both Jew and Gentile.  In the book of John (NT), John the Baptist preached of the coming of the Messiah, a message to repent and prepare a straight path for the Lord’s arrival, a message to be cleansed with water for the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world has arrived, a testimony that Jesus is the Son of God, the Gift of Life!

Throughout the New Testament Jesus preached on the “Kingdom of God”.  He shared with all who would listen that He was the “Bread of Life”, the “Lamb of God”, the “Living Water” and the “Light of the World”.  He healed the lame, the sick, the blind and the suffering.  He raised the dead and delivered the possessed — He had compassion, empathy, forgiveness and mercy for all people.  Jesus preached that all would have life through the Son of God and that HE was the Son of God – that God’s will was that everyone who believed and accepted Jesus as the SON OF GOD would have eternal life with God and Him in Heaven, the Kingdom of God. Jesus also foretold His death and that on the third day after his death he would be resurrected.  He shared with His disciples that they would see Him again and that a Helper (His Holy Spirit) would arrive and live within them once He ascended into Heaven.  Jesus final message to His disciples (believers, followers of “The Way”) was the GREAT COMMISSION.  All disciples (followers of “The Way”) were to go and make disciples of all nations – – baptizing them in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit – – and that they were to teach everyone everything that He taught and commanded them through His teachings, His Word.  Two of those commands, found in Matthew 32:37- 40, were (1) to LOVE the Lord your God with all your “heart” and with all your “soul” and with all your “mind” and (2) to LOVE your neighbor as yourself – – Jesus referred to those commands as the greatest of all.
